A Celebrity Big Brother presenter has admited Mickey Rourke had housemates feeling ‘scared and vulnerable’ with him in the house.
Appearing on ITV’s This Morning on Monday for the gossip segment about the reality show, Will Best shared his take on the shocking events of the weekend, which resulted in The Wrestler actor’s departure.
Confessing that he doesn’t think the star, 72, is an ‘evil man’, he said, unfortunately, his unacceptable behaviour did leave the housemates feeling both ‘scared and vulnerable’.
Recapping why this was a common feeling amongst the housemates, the presenter said Rourke caused upset from the get-go, especially after using ‘unacceptable language and behaviour’ towards former Dance Moms star JoJo Siwa.
Best, 40, said following ‘further use of inappropriate language’ and ‘instances of unacceptable behaviour’, including using certain language towards The Only Way Is Essex star Ella Rae Wise, and ‘language and behaviour’ that ‘was threatening and aggressive’ towards Love Island star Chris Hughes, Rourke and Big Brother agreed it was time for him to leave.
While Best was cautious with his words, he told hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond that the actor’s exit was not ‘something entirely unexpected, just because it’s an extreme environment’.

He continued to say that as Mickey is prone to ‘certain types of behaviour,’ there is always a danger’, but believes he isn’t an ‘evil man’.
One thing that did surprise the presenter, however, is how quickly Rourke crossed the line again.
Recalling the instance on Saturday night when Rourke and Hughes were dressed as pirates during a task, he discussed the actor’s ‘threatening’ behaviour, which was ‘totally out of proportion’.

‘I can’t repeat exactly what Mickey said, but it was bad, and it made not just Chris – Chris handled it very well – but it made the rest of the house feel vulnerable, a bit scared,’ Best said.
He added that ‘sadly’ the same day he made ‘totally inappropriate’ remarks to Wise that ‘made her feel understandably vulnerable, and that is the point where you’ve got to go.’
Maintaining his diplomatic approach in his summary of the events, Best told hosts that he ‘felt a bit sorry’ for the actor as he knows he has had a tough life, and he hopes that Rourke ‘will learn’ from his behaviour.

Upon leaving the house, Rourke shared his upset and admitted he had taken things too far.
‘I stepped over the line. And I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing,’ he said. ‘Because I lost my temper, and I’ve been trying to work on it my whole life and I wish I would have had better self-control and I’m very sorry.
‘I’m ashamed of myself for losing it for a few seconds there. Nobody got touched or hurt.
‘Maybe some feelings got hurt or maybe others have feelings about others getting upset but, you know, I’m sorry about that.’
It follows news that the star will miss out on his rumoured £500,000 fee for his behaviour.
While it’s claimed he will receive some compensation for his time and appearance on the hit show, it’s likely to be much less than what he originally agreed to.

‘Mickey won’t be receiving all his money from ITV,’ a source revealed this morning.
They continued to say that it’s standard protocol if a celebrity gets removed from the house, ‘they don’t get the full fee’.
‘It’s as simple as that and they will be discussing that with him. Mickey was ready to leave the house and it ended up feeling like a mutual decision between him and ITV in the end. It was getting too much,’ the source told The Sun.
Watch Celebrity Big Brother on ITV at 9pm weeknights, and on ITVX.
