href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/04\/10\/tina-malone-reveals-husband-paul-chases-final-moments-death-aged-42-20619513\/\">struggled to hold back tears <\/a>speaking about <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/03\/13\/inside-tina-malone-paul-chases-marriage-19-year-age-gap-20460306\/\">her husband Paul Chase\u2019<\/a>s death from suicide a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>The actress, 62, rose to fame playing Mo McGee in the soap <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/brookside\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">Brookside<\/a> from 1993 until 1998.<\/p>\n<p>She then went on to play Mimi Maguire on Shameless from 2005 until 2013.<\/p>\n<p>In 2009 she also appeared on <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/celebrity-big-brother\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">Celebrity Big Brother<\/a> and then competed on <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/celebrity-masterchef\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">Celebrity MasterChef<\/a> in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>However, in May last year she announced the devastating news that her husband <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/05\/18\/tina-malone-confirms-husband-died-suicide-devastating-first-interview-20866526\/\">had died at the age of 42 by suicide<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At the time she explained that she\u2019d decided to share how he died as she \u2018believes in transparency\u2019 and wanted to shine a light on the rates of suicide in military veterans.<\/p>\n<figure death.<\/p>\n<p>In a promo clip for the upcoming episode of The Lewis Nicholls Show podcast on YouTube, Tina was shown to be incredibly upset.<\/p>\n<p>As she explained: \u2018My husband fought in Iraq, Afghanistan, Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He went from Belize to Cyprus, and he had a wonderful life in the army. He admitted it in the end but, by then, things had gone too far.
