data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/eurovision-song-contest\/\">Eurovision Song Contest<\/a>, have admitted that scoring points at the competition is not their priority.<\/p>\n<p>There isn\u2019t long to go until Europe\u2019s campest singing competition returns, taking place this year in <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/basel\/\">Basel<\/a>, <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/switzerland\/\">Switzerland<\/a> after Swiss musician <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/05\/11\/switzerlands-code-lyrics-nemo-wins-eurovision-2024-20821917\/\">Nemo\u2019s victory in 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Speculation is mounting over which country will be the frontrunner, with most recent odds from bookies giving the UK 4-1 chances of finishing at the <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/03\/13\/friendless-uk-suffers-worst-news-ahead-eurovision-song-contest-2025-22722130\/\">bottom of the leaderboard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This might be seen as a setback to some, but Remember Monday \u2013 who first <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/03\/07\/eurovision-2025-uk-act-finally-confirmed-soaring-fame-voice-22678145\/\">found fame on The Voice UK<\/a> \u2013 aren\u2019t letting the latest predictions bring down their morale, as they explained to <strong>Metro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>When asked how they feel about their odds slipping \u2013 currently boasting 40-1 chances of winning, according to bookmaker Coral \u2013 the musical trio are deciding not to focus on the possibility of a low score, after <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/05\/14\/olly-alexander-brands-eurovision-song-contest-2024-loss-iconic-20839114\/\">Olly Alexander scored a mere 46 points<\/a> in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I didn’t know that,\u2019 Holly-Anne Hull said regarding Remember Monday\u2019s odds going down, while Charlotte Steele remarked: \u2018I didn’t tell you guys.\u2019<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container Reuse of the picture may require further permission from the copyright holder.\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Remember Monday will be representing the UK at the Song Contest this year in Switzerland (Picture: Owen James Vincent\/PA Wire)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Sitting between her two bandmates, Lauren Byrne added: \u2018I’ve been blissfully ignorant.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Holly-Anne then admitted that they\u2019re \u2018making the conscious decision\u2019 not to keep an eye on the odds, as they \u2018cannot have their live performance affected in any way\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We’re not doing it for the points,\u2019 she continued. ‘We’re doing it to watch that video back and be so proud of what we’ve done at that stage.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Despite the continued attention placed on the bookmakers\u2019 predictions, Charlotte stressed that they \u2018don\u2019t decide the winner\u2019 of the Song Contest.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018You look at the history within Eurovision, the amount of winners that were like 20th in the bookies\u2019 bets.
