TVDoctor Who has survived an awful lot.
We’ve seen the Doctor fall off a giant telescope, absorb a lethal amount of radiation (twice), and even bump their head on the Tardis console, yet they still walked away to tell the tale.
True, they might not have had the same face after these incidents, but that’s pretty run of the mill for Time Lords.
It’s strange, then, that for the first time since 2005 and Doctor Who’s triumphant return that it feels like the beloved sci-fi series is in peril.
Low viewing figures, mixed critical reception, and growing fan antipathy have dogged the show over the last few series, and there’s a fear amongst fans that the Doctor might be done for.

Yet, do you know who else has believed the Doctor was defeated over the years? The Daleks… and the Cybermen… and The Master.
In fact, countless villains over the years have considered the Doctor to be beaten, only to be proven wrong, and new rumours have me optimistic that the Last of the Time Lords can do the impossible once again.
We’ll start with the bad news. There are unverified reports online that Disney is done with Doctor Who and that they won’t be helping produce another season.
On paper, that sounds like a massive blow, but before you start wailing into your Tom Baker scarf, there is some good news.

Supposedly, the BBC is close to finding a new partner for the beleaguered series, which will allow them to continue Doctor Who in some form or another.
What form will the show take next? Who knows?
To paraphrase the Doctor, regeneration is a lottery; you never know what you’re going to get, and so is renewal in the TV world.
What I do know is that whoever takes it over is unlikely to have pockets as deep as Disney – unless it’s Apple TV Plus, they’re Scrooge McDuck rich – which means Who’s going to have to make some adjustments.
And you know what? I think that’s great.
The BBC may have grand ambitions for Doctor Who to be a big-budget affair like the MCU or other modern sci-fi series, but that’s not what audiences watch the show for.
They watch it because they love the characters, the stories, and the incredible creativity of the writers.
The House of Mouse’s cash might have allowed the Doctor to go on bigger adventures than ever before through impressive special effects, incredible sets, and stunning CGI, but it also robbed the show of some of its underdog spirit.
Now, the stereotype of every Doctor Who monster being made of a pedal bin with bubble wrap glued to it is a bit outdated, as is the belief that it’s filmed exclusively in Welsh quarries.
Yet it is true that the series’ limited budget forced the show’s writers and producers to get creative, which gave Doctor Who a certain charm all of its own.
Monsters felt more real because they were just people in goofy costumes, not CGI behemoths.
Alien worlds felt tangible because they weren’t green screens, they were… well, to be honest, they were Welsh quarries, but they used other places in Wales too!
More than that, I think the limited budgets pushed writers and producers to think their way out of problems, rather than throwing cash at them.
There are plenty of examples from across the show’s history but the best example I can think of involves the iconic Tardis.
Have you ever wondered why the Tardis is a blue police phone box? No, it’s not because the chameleon circuit is broken. It’s because the BBC didn’t want to pay for a new prop every week.
That’s right, one of the most important pieces of iconography in British pop culture was born because some backroom accountant wanted to save a couple of quid.
Glibness aside, I do think a big problem in recent years has been an overreliance on spectacle over character and plot (most notably in the last two season finales).
With that in mind then I’m hopeful that whoever takes on Who will make Russell T Davies and his writers realise expensive CGI isn’t a substitute for a coherent story.
So, what I’m saying is that Disney dropping Doctor Who may wound the show. It may even force Doctor Who to change its face once again, but change can be for the better.

Netflix’s newest South Korean revenge thriller, Mercy For None, is already being praised by fans.
The seven-episode series follows a ‘former gangster’ who ‘returns to the underworld’ after his brother is murdered, fuelled by ‘power, ambition and revenge’.
The synopsis continues: ‘Gi-jun (So Ji-Sub), who’s been living in exile since he left the underworld over a decade ago, reenters the mob scene to get revenge against anyone and everyone involved in his brother’s murder.’
The show is based on the webtoon Plaza Wars: Mercy for None by O Se-hyung and Kim Gyun-tae and has been adapted to screen by Yoo Ki-seong.
It has clearly already made an impression on eager viewers, catapulting into the top 10 TV shows on Netflix this week – and the reviews reflect its well-deserved popularity.

‘From brutal hand-to-hand combat to wielding his signature baseball bat and mastering blade fights, bones crack, bodies fly, and blood stains the walls of many villains’ hideaways. So Ji-Sub delivers an electrifying performance that sets a new standard for action storytelling.
‘Mercy for None lands its blood-soaked action sequences and sufficiently surprising plotting to stay engaging,’ Google reviewer Gunta Sharmila shared.
‘This is the first time in a while that I’ve truly enjoyed an action-themed series, and Mercy for None completely exceeded my expectations. From the opening scene to the final episode, it delivers a gripping, emotionally intense experience that goes far beyond the typical revenge drama,’ Jahazeel Ramos agreed.
‘The best revenge series sooo far! Since I’m a fan of the thriller action genre, I absolutely binge-watched it in one day. Definitely would recommend this,’ Shejal Ray echoed.
Over on X, user kdramamiss added: ‘Mercy For None was an insane ride, a very fast paced, bloody action packed thriller drama with great performances from the ensemble cast and intense crazy fight scenes it was so good!’
‘It feels like I’m watching a Korean version of John Wick but I love the crazy fights, blood everywhere, and revenge! And honestly, I’m loving every second of it,’ te3_tia said.
It is not the first South Korean revenge thriller to garner special attention on the streamer.
Earlier this year, fans raved about the K-drama Karma, which followed the ‘intertwined lives of six individuals’ who were ‘plunged into a cycle of retribution’.
So if you are looking for your next bite of the revenge apple, make Mercy For None your next watch.
Mercy For None is now streaming on Netflix.

TVWWE fans couldn’t help but get emotional watching R-Truth transform into Ron Killings before their very eyes on Monday Night Raw.
For almost two decades, the former United States Champion has largely been a comedy act, beloved by fans but never getting too serious in the ring.
Of course, fans of TNA Wrestling know all too well what he can do from his time as world champ under his real name.
Now, it’s time for WWE fans to get caught up, as Truth – who revealed just over a week ago he had been told by bosses he would be released when his contact expired – completed a remarkable turnaround.
Viewers’ voices were heard, the decision was reversed, and the fan favourite was brought back in an unbelievable way at Money In The Bank over the weekend.

Just 48 hours later on Raw, Truth cut a fiery promo on the commentary desk, before pulling out a pair of scissors and cutting off his dreadlocks.
‘Bro I got chills watching that promo 🥶 Truth cutting his hair got me shocked also 😱 R-Truth is gone and Ron Killings has arrived 🔥#WWERaw,’ wrote @Ossnips on X.
‘R-Truth cutting his hair elevated the whole thing. He proved his conviction. Every word he spoke meant more,’ @NamasteWestli1, as @zeevee admitted: ‘Truth got me in tears right now. I’m on the floor.
‘R-Truth is gone but Ron Killings is here. This man is beloved y’all,’ added @RyanSilapan, while @2000bryam said: ‘Man that R truth – Ron Killings transformation segment literally brought tears to my eyes … Give that man and Emmy.’
And fan @LittleVampie222 tweeted: ‘I am so freaking happy for him, man! 🖤 And so glad they gave him a moment to let us know what’s up. And to shed his skin, or eh, hair. I had literal tears in my eyes and a smile on my face! Ron Killings is about to be something special!’
Starting his promo on the desk, the revitalised wrestler said: ‘Y’all brought R-Truth back. We want Truth, y’all got R-Truth. We won! R-Truth is back – for all of you! Every last one of you, R-Truth is back!
‘I’m back for me too. You see, not only did you bring R-Truth back… you got me. Now, we all love R-Truth. I love R-Truth too.’
However, he pointed out that his well-known persona can be ‘too funny all the time’, as well as ‘too nice’ and ‘too forgiving’.
‘Not me,’ he insisted. ‘I feel different. I feel alive. And for any of you that thinks I’m a lie, you think I’m some sideshow act, you think I’m a gimmick?’
The crowd roared ‘no’, and soon went wild as commentators Wade Barrett and Michael Cole backed away as he pulled out the scissors and chopped off his locks.
‘R-Truth – the truth has set me free. I am Ron Killings,’ he bellowed to an incredible reaction. ‘I am the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth! Now put some respect on my name!’
Monday Night Raw and all other WWE programming is available on Netflix.

GamingThe first post-launch Nintendo Switch 2 game announcement has just happened and it’s a spin-off for Splatoon, with a major new update for Splatoon 3 out this week.
Now that the Nintendo Switch 2 is out, the big question is when other new games will be announced for it… and how. There are rumours of a Nintendo Direct this month, but so far no confirmation, and yet Nintendo has just unveiled a new game, via its Nintendo Today! mobile app.
That’s probably going to become a regular occurrence, with the reveal including a five minute trailer that announces a spin-off called Splatoon Raiders and the Ver. 10.0.0 update for Splatoon 3.
It’s not really clear what Splatoon Raiders is, but it may be another attempt to make a successful single-player mode for the game, even though the franchise is fundamentally multiplayer at heart.
We’re only guessing that Raiders might be singe-player, as it’s really not clear from the brief trailer, which only confirms that you play as a mechanic helping out the Deep Cut trio investigate a mysterious island.
Nintendo has tried multiple times to make single-player content for Splatoon, including via two DLC expansions, but while the Octo Expansion for Splatoon 2 was the best attempt it was super hard and will have done little to expand the franchise’s appeal.
Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning.
Splatoon is hugely popular in Japan, so it was a surprise not to see it mentioned during the Switch 2 reveal and subsequent Direct. Raiders is emphatically not Splatoon 4 though, with Nintendo continuing to support Splatoon 3, which allows for cross-play with the Switch 1 and is getting improved visuals and performance for the Switch 2.
As well as giving a glow-up to the game on the new console, the update will also add new weapons and badges, with 30 new weapon kits and the return of the Urchin Underpass map from the first game.
The weapon freshness limits will also be increased and there’s a new stat tracking option for keeping an eye on each weapon’s power level.
Ver. 10.0.0 will be available on Thursday, June 12 but there’s no indication of when Splatoon Raiders will be released. All first party Switch 2 games so far have been scheduled for this year, even if some of them don’t have a specific date yet, so it’s tempting to assume Raiders is 2026 or later.
The only major first party title currently confirmed for 2026 is The Duskbloods, although that’s being made by Elden Ring developer FromSoftware and not Nintendo.
Given the Switch 2’s surprisingly lacklustre winter line-up, some fans have speculated that Nintendo is holding back the reveal of a secret big name title for Christmas. Even though it’s not as popular in the West as it is Japan, that could be Raiders but there’s nothing to confirm that yet.

TVGino D’Acampo’s restaurant chain was saved from the brink of collapse after falling into £7million worth of debt.
The scandal-ridden TV chef was booted from ITV programming earlier this year after a series of allegations of sexually inappropriate and bullying behaviour from dozens over his career.
It’s not the only crisis the former presenter, who has firmly denied all allegations, has had to navigate with his culinary empire was almost forced to shut down due to amassing an eye-watering amount of debt.
D’Acampo owns restaurants across London, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester, totalling 11 locations, an Italian ingredients supplier Bonta Italia Ltd, as well as a line of Asda ready meals.
The financial woes, however, became apparent last year when he was unable to pay his staff at his My Pasta Bar chain thanks to the business stacking up £5m worth of losses.
It has now come to light that the controlling company Upmarket Leisure – of which the 48-year-old TV personality owns 10% – owed £5.3m to HMRC and almost £2m to creditors ahead of its near-closure.
This included food suppliers who were owed almost £500,000, a wine dealer due £302,000 and a pasta company waiting for a £4,809 payment.
The statement of affairs, publicly released on June 5, also outlined that Upmarket only had£117,000 in cash at the bank and £320,000 in other assets to cover the debt.
In May, the chain was saved when Upmarket was bought out of administration in a whopping £5m deal which secured the jobs of all 400 staff members.
It also ensured the payment of £4.2m to two major creditors.
At the time, Dean Watson, an administrator Begbies Traynor, said: ‘This very well-recognised group of restaurants will be able to continue, under their existing brand, and has the opportunity to thrive again.
Meanwhile, D’Acampo is gearing up for an imminent TV comeback since his slew of travel and food shows, as well as his regular spot on This Morning, were stopped.
He recently appeared on the radio where he made a series of innuendo-filled, sexually-charged comments towards the female presenter.
Earlier this year, he also shared photos of himself on the set of a new project, both in front and behind the camera, with the promise of an upcoming release date.
Meanwhile, Gino’s official website promises great things ahead, including his career as a restaurateur.
‘Gino is also one of the UK’s most successful restaurateurs, with his restaurant empire growing by the day. Gino currently has 7 restaurants across the UK, plus has recently partnered with the global hotel giants to open restaurants both in the UK and overseas.
‘Malta is the next international site to open in June 2025, in the 5* ME HOTEL, Mercury Towers,’ the site reads.
Stars such as John Barrowman and Keith Lemon’s Leigh Francis have shown their support for the controversial presenter.
Metro has contacted Gino D’Acampo’s representative for comment.

TVKeen-eyed muggles have spotted a problem with the cast of the upcoming Harry Potter TV show, but is there really an issue?
Over the last few weeks, HBO has been slowly announcing who will be playing who in the small-screen adaptation of the Boy Who Lived’s adventures.
So far, we’ve learned that some of the biggest names in Hollywood are set to appear – including John Lithgow, Paapa Essiedu, Janet McTeer, and Nick Frost – while newcomers Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout will be playing Harry, Hermione, and Ron, respectively.
On June 9, another owl (okay, it was a press release) arrived announcing several new actors who’ll be joining the show. Katherine Parkinson will be taking on the role of Molly Weasley, Johnny Flynn will be donning Lucius Malfoy’s blonde wig, while Lox Pratt will play his son Draco.
Of all those announced, though, it was Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby – who are playing Harry’s aunt and uncle, Petunia and Vernon Dursley – who caught fans’ attention.
A number of people online thought that the pair were too young to play the Harry’s last living relatives.
@RageCrusader asked on X, ‘Aren’t they a bit young for the roles?’, @turquoisepogos concurred posting, ‘ Why so young choice?’
@relientkenny meanwhile wrote, ‘This is insane. They’re both only in their 30s’ and @DavidJosephLaw2 added, ‘I’m assuming they’ll have makeup on cos they look too young’.
It was @RickPayne88, however, who was perhaps the most dramatic about the latest casting news, posting: ‘Whoever is the casting director needs to be fired wtf are these casts’.
This sentiment wasn’t exclusive to X either. On Reddit, UltraYZU admitted ‘They seem much younger and quite more attractive than I imagined when reading.’
In fact, a number of people seemed confused as to why producers had cast such young actors as the Dursleys.
Here’s the thing, though: Bel and Daniel are exactly the right ages to play Petunia and Vernon. You see, while the movies portrayed the Dursleys as a middle-aged couple, they’re a lot younger in the books.
How do we know that? Well, you don’t need to be as good as a goblin at arithmetic to work that out, but let me spell (pun unintended) it out for you.

While Petunia’s age in the books is never stated, we know that she’s close in age to her sister Lily, who was just 21 when Voldemort murdered her.
That would mean that when the story began, ten years after the Potter’s murder, Petunia could only have been in her early thirties at most.
Bel, at 33 years old, is the perfect age to play Harry’s aunt. Similarly, we’re never explicitly told how old Vernon is in the books, fans estimate he’s only a few years older than his wife, with most estimating he’s about 37 in The Philosopher’s Stone.
At 42 years old, Daniel is actually older than Vernon was when we met him in the first book.
Of course, it’s easy to understand why some fans are confused about the Dursley’s ages. In the Harry Potter movies, the decision was made to age up the adult cast.
This was done primarily because the 55-year-old Alan Rickman had been cast as Snape, who’s supposed to be in his thirties, and therefore, the actors playing his classmates had to be a similar age to keep things looking consistent.
The Harry Potter TV show is set for release in 2026

FilmAmanda Seyfried has claimed that Paramount Pictures owes her money for using her likeness in Mean Girls merchandise.
Mean Girls was a 2004 phenomenon written by Tina Fey and starring the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, and Lacey Chabert.
The movie was a phenomenal hit, sparking sequels, a Broadway and West End musical, and a film version of the musical.
In the film, Amanda played Karen Smith, one of the ‘plastics’ aka the group of ‘mean girls’ in the film, who use their popularity to rule the school.
In a new interview for Variety’s Actors on Actors, Amanda sat down with Nobody Wants This star Adam Brody to discuss their careers thus far.
The topic of Mean Girls came up in conversation, with Amanda admitting that she loves seeing her face on t-shirts but felt a little ‘resentful’ as she believed she wasn’t paid for the use of her likeness.
‘I really love seeing my face on people’s t-shirts, I mean, I am a little resentful because Paramount still owes me some money.’
‘For the likeness,’ she clarified. ‘Every store sells Mean Girls T-shirts with our faces on. Photographs!
‘And I’m like, is it because I was 17 and dumb, or is it just like…you know what I mean?
‘But I love it. Even the girl at TSA: “Mean Girls, my favourite movie!” and I’m like “Great!” I was 17, I had nothing to do with it.
Speaking about the film in retrospect, the Mamma Mia actress said that she is still excited to speak about it 20 years later.
On the Happy Sad Confused podcast earlier this year, she told host Josh Horowitz: ‘I hope they quote it on my grave…. In many ways, it was just a perfect movie.
‘People relate to it still, and it really, it connected us, and it continues to. And I will always be excited to talk about it…. I will, any day, honour that movie.”
She also reflected that she was very young when the film was made, and it was the first time she’d been on a film set.
‘I think the experience for me is very specific, because I’d never been in a movie before. I’d never been on a set like that before. And I was working with people who had. So, for me, it was just, everything was new.’
Metro has reached out to Paramount Pictures for comment.

FilmA film which has been dubbed an ‘underrated classic’ and a ‘horror masterpiece’ has been added to Netflix ahead of its 40th anniversary later this summer.
The flick, which boasts 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, has won fans over with its campy blend of horror and comedy, fine acting performances and ‘deliciously gory’ practical effects.
Written and directed by Tom Holland (no, not that one), Fright Night follows Charley Brewster (William Ragsale), who’s convinced that his reclusive new neighbour is a vampire – but no one believes the horror film junkie.
But after strange events begin to occur, Charley has no choice but to turn to the only person who could possibly help: washed-up television vampire killer Peter Vincent (Roddy McDowall).
Chris Sarandon stars as the neighbour/vampire, Jerry Dandrige.

‘If you love being scared this could be the night of your life,’ teases the original trailer for this 1985 film, which was popular enough to receive a 2011 remake with Colin Farrell as the charismatic vampire, David Tennant, Toni Collette and the late Anton Yelchin as Charley Brewster.
But this first version received praise upon its release, ending the year as the second-highest grossing horror film on over $24.9million (£18.45m), only behind A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge.
‘Not just an eighties horror classic, but a horror masterpiece,’ decreed Cinema Crazed in its review, while critic Keith Garlington added: ‘I wholeheartedly believe Fright Night to be an underrated classic…It’s driven by a fabulous collection of characters, an unabashedly fun story, some deliciously gory effects, and a steady seasoning of good humor.’
‘For my money, Chris Sarandon makes the best vampire in movie history,’ insisted Northwest Herald critic Jeffrey Westhoff at the time, while legendary film critic Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times: ‘Fright Night is not a distinguished movie, but it has a lot of fun being undistinguished.’
It also holds a special place in fans’ hearts, 40 years on – and it’s something that Netflix subscribers in the UK can now revisit – or discover – after Fright Night was added to the streaming platform last week.
‘I have loved this movie since the first time I saw it a million years ago and still love watching it every time. One of my ALL-TIME favourites,’ enthused Justin K in his audience review on Rotten Tomatoes.
‘Best vampire movie of all time,’ insisted Alex D, while Nick O wrote: ‘A high school monster kid and a local horror host team up to take on a 1000 year old bloodsucker…is there a cooler vampire flick out there?’
‘Best movie ever,’ shared Duh Sunnyday in a five-star review on Google. ‘The makeup and effects were ahead of its [sic] time. They may look cheesy compared to today’s standards but the acting, suspense, and story still hold up to the test of time. You can get lost in it. Truly a classic.’
‘I can never get enough of this film,’ praised Ihsan Tuncel, while David O’Brien called Fright Night ‘an absolute joy from start to finish’ which ‘oozes atmosphere’.
‘A beautiful-looking tongue in cheek 80s vampire flick with stunning special effects and a fantastic cast,’ he added.
Fright Night is streaming on Netflix in the UK now.

FilmFans are rejoicing as Pedro Pascal has emerged as the frontrunner to portray the next James Bond villain.
The Last of Us and Gladiator 2 star is now the 4/1 favourite, narrowly edging out Cillian Murphy, who trails closely at 5/1, according to online bookmaker Betway.
Skyrocketing to fame in the last few years, Pascal’s recent run of roles has catapulted him into the global spotlight, making him a tantalising candidate for 007’s next adversary.
Betway now considers him the most likely star to take on the role, with fans sure to flock to cinemas for a chance to see Pascal’s take on a Bond bad guy.
‘Pedro Pascal’s star power has skyrocketed in recent years,’ said Betway spokesperson Mike Reading.
‘He’s built a global following thanks to standout performances in The Last of Us, Gladiator 2, and even hosting SNL. He is now the 4/1 favourite to take up the mantle of villain in the next James Bond film.’
But the odds are growing steeper for the rest of the field. Giancarlo Esposito and Barry Keoghan are both currently sitting at 6/1, while Mad Max: Fury Road star Charlize Theron (the highest-ranked female candidate) is listed at 10/1.
Further down the list are Stephen Graham, Saoirse Ronan, and Woody Harrelson, each with 16/1 odds.
Graham’s name has gained traction recently, thanks to his gritty turn in Adolescence, a performance Betway suggests could bring ‘a bold new flavour’ to the franchise.
The next Bond film, now under the full creative control of Amazon MGM, is still in early development, with no confirmed casting announcements.
Fans are also continuing to speculate about who will take on the role of 007 opposite whoever ends up as the newest Bond Villain (fingers crossed it will be Pascal).
Six years after Daniel Craig announced his retirement from the franchise, it appears we are no closer to unveiling the next 007.
Former favourite Idris Elba, 52, previously ruled himself out from playing the British spy, while other hotly tipped actors, including James Norton and Theo James, have remained coy.
The current front-runner to become Bond is Aaron Taylor-Johnson, while bookies’ Ladbrokes have also given preferential odds to the likes of Henry Cavill, Jack Lowden and Tom Hardy.

Sony Pictures Classics has just dropped the first trailer for Oh, Hi!, and if the internet is any indication, fans are already obsessed.
The chaotic, funny, and unexpectedly tender romantic comedy stars Molly Gordon and Logan Lerman as Iris and Isaac.
The film, directed by Sophie Brooks (The Boy Downstairs), follows Iris and Isaac on what should be a dreamy first couples getaway.
There’s a charming romantic dinner, dancing under fairy lights, and even an experimental foray into BDSM.
But things take a sharp left turn when Iris dares to use the word ‘couple.’ Isaac quickly backpedals, prompting Iris to do something… bold.
‘Why would you bring me here? Why would you spend all day acting like my boyfriend!?’ she demands, standing over a very handcuffed Isaac.
‘You’re being kinda crazy right now,’ he replies.
Spoiler: that does not calm her down.
The film co-stars Geraldine Viswanathan, John Reynolds, David Cross, Jimmy Gary Jr., and Polly Draper, rounding out an all-star cast.
Since its premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, Oh, Hi! has been building buzz.
Kevin Fallon of The Daily Beast’s Obsessed called it ‘a hilarious comedy’ that disrupts rom-com expectations while The Guardian notes ‘…the film does happen upon a real, and painful, truth of the problems that come from dating without a label.’
Many critics have also noted the strength of Molly Gordon’s performance, with Variety calling it ‘boundless and bouncily unhinged.’
It’s also struck a chord online, with fans losing their minds over the Lerman-Gordon pairing and the movie’s unhinged premise.
‘I am so seated for sexy indie Gerald’s Game,’ tweeted @SeriousMolly.
‘Molly Gordon has so much on screen power. She should be in more projects,’ added @Haiderjkhan.
@_tweetsbyjess declared: ‘Girl this seems like a hit to me!! We will be watching.’
And perhaps most appropriately, @stylesgala posted: ‘Someone is going to have to restrain me when I see oh, hi!’
Gordon, who also co-wrote the story with Brooks, told Vanity Fair the film is about modern dating frustrations and the emotional confusion that comes with them.
‘With apps, it’s just such a hard time to date in our modern age, and we’ve had a communication breakdown between sexes,’ she said.
‘We just wanted to make something that is about how hard it is to just be honest about how you feel about someone.’
Catch Oh, Hi! in theaters starting July 25, Bring Your Own Handcuffs (BYOH).
